Chandigarh: Haryana power distribution corporation on Wednesday announced giving 10 percent as an incentive to operation sub-divisions on recovery of amount that is pending for last three years or more.

This amount will be spent on strengthening infrastructure of the sub division concerned. It was decided in the operation review committee meeting of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam chaired by Chairman and Managing Director Devender Singh in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

He said strenuous efforts are necessary to recover the defaulting amount from non-payers by effecting permanent disconnection orders.

The Discoms have already announced the electricity bills waiver scheme for the benefit of rural domestic and tube well consumers.

He said the complaint redressal mechanism was being strengthened to achieve the standard of performance. The Discoms will register complaints sent through e-mail or SMS. A token number will be provided to the consumer for enquiry. The status of complaint would be informed to the consumer on his mobile number, Singh said.

Emphasising on providing better services to the consumers, he said it was necessary to promote an accountability based culture in the Discoms. The employees would be rewarded or punished on the basis of their performance for which score cards will be maintained and it will be linked with their performance.
