Jaipur: In order to boost up electricity production in Rajasthan, 10 super critical power units are being established in the state under the 12th Five Year Plan.

Out of these power plants, two units of 660 megawatts each will be set up in Jhabra in Baran district of Rajasthan. The Centre has already approved the establishment of these units.

While land acquisition has already been completed for the power plants and water availability also satisfied, the approval for the coal block allocation will soon be completed.

The first unit of the Kali Sindh Super Thermal Power will be started in March 2012, whereas the second unit will start producing electricity by June-July 2012.

The electricity production in all 23 units is expected to be started soon. Of the electricity units established during the 11th Five year Plan, 960 megawatts of electricity is being produced at present with 910 megawatts of power will be produced in the coming period.
