Jaipur: In a bizarre incident of its kind, a local court in Rajasthan’s Kota has announced life imprisonment for a 103-year-old man in connection with a three year old case.    

The case dates to October 8, 2008 when the convict Kamaluddin attacked two persons- Babulal and his son Murli Samriya. Kamaluddin attacked the father-son duo with an axe. Both sides had tiff for over four years in connection with the theft of a goat. Kamaluddin was arrested by the police the following day- October 9, 2008. Meanwhile, Babulal succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on October 31. 

Subsequently, Kamaluddin was charged under section 302 of IPC and SCST Act.

After hearing the case, a special court dealing with SCST cases reserved its order and announced life imprisonment to Kamaluddin. The convict Kamaluddin is a retired police constable.

Interestingly, according to the police records, the age of the accused is 93, but the family members claim that he is 103-year-old, who regularly visits hospital for health reasons.
