Indore: The Madhya Pradesh Police on Sunday arrested 11 men in connection with the gang rape of two girls on Saturday at Betama city in Indore.

The two girls were allegedly gang raped by a group of 16 individuals including a son of a BJP’s MLC in the region. The victims, in their FIR, had also alleged that an MMS has been shot by the accused.

In the case, four men including the son of BJP’s MLC were arrested on Saturday. After interrogation, two more names came into light. The total number of accused involved in the case has gone to 18.

“Two girls had lodged an FIR on Saturday. The accused had threatened them to kill” Police official said.

Taking immediate action on the complaint, the police on Saturday arrested Chetan Kumar, Gopal Panchal, Dilip Kushwah, Shantilal, and Javed.

Based on the information hatched after the interrogation of those arrested on Saturday, Police on Sunday arrested six more accused— Vikas Bharti, Sanju, Ravi Mandloi, Vikram Makwana, Tipu and Mona Tamboli.

As per the IT Act, a case has also been registered against the accused for shooting MMS.

The state government announced Rs 2 lakh each for the victims, while the Congress also announced to give Rs.25000 each as compensation to the girls.
