Thrissur: An eleven-day National Book Festival would commence from January 2 under the auspices of the Kerala Sahitya Academy (KSA). Leading publishers and distributors would put up at least 60 stalls, besides 10 exhibitions stalls, KSA's president, Perumpadavam Sreedharan told reporters.

As part of the festival, competitions in literature would be held for students.

Seminars with a view to improving the reading habit of the common man, and for the growth and development of art, literature, music and folklore would also be held at different dates as part of the book festival would also be held.

Noted Hindi poetess, Laxmisankar Vajpayee would be inaugurating the festival on Jan 02, Sreedharan added.
