New Delhi: Jagran Publication Limited (JPL), India's leading media and communications group with its flagship brand Dainik Jagran acclaimed as the world’s most read newspaper, has registered a significant rise in its income in the third quarter of current fiscal. The third quarter ended on December 31, 2011 and JPL’s operating revenue has increased by 13.29 % to Rs 324.03 crore. The company had operating revenue of Rs 286.03 crore last year in the same quarter.

The company has posted Rs 41.3 crore income in third quarter of current fiscal year.  However, in the same quarter last year it was Rs 52.64 crore.  The JPL’s advertising revenue has increased by 14.91% to Rs 223.53 crore. Advertising revenue in the same quarter last year was Rs 194.52 crore.

Talking about the results, company’s Chairman and Managing Director Mahendra Mohan Gupta said, "In the present challenging environment overall performance has been very satisfactory. However, there will be stiff challenges ahead and need to keep performing in the same manner in future."

JPL’s Dainik Jagran has 5.52 crore readers. Its i-next for youths and Punjabi jagran are very popular. JPL’s partner Midday Info media Ltd has distribution of Midday in English, Inquilab in Urdu and Midday in Gujarati.
