Istanbul: At least 15 people have been arrested in Istanbul for their alleged involvement in match-fixing in Turkish football, a media report said.

Among those arrested included Sekip Mosturoglu, deputy chairman of Turkish champions Fenerbahce, and Bulent Uygun, manager of Eskisehirspor, said a report.

Fenerbahce chairman Aziz Yildirim refused to make a statement to police and was taken to an Istanbul court investigating the scandal.

Police released a statement stating that there was concrete evidence that 19 football matches were fixed last season in the Turkish first and second leagues.
