Etawah: The 15 day-long 'Saifai Mahotsav' was inaugurated at the native village of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav by JNU's Hindi department head Kedar Nath Singh on Friday.

In his inaugural speech, Singh urged the state government to set up an institute to promote folk art, songs and dances of the state in order to preserve and promote our culture.

In his brief address, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav praised all the artistes and children who are participating in the cultural programmes during the Mahotsav. Besides the chief minister, senior ministers, MPs and MLAs of the Samajwadi party were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Artistes like Mohit Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Shaimak Davar, Milan Singh will be participating at the mahotsav along with performances by Mehfil-e-Qawali and kavi sammelan.
