Indore: In a shameful incident for the Government Railway Police (GRP), at least 15 passengers including nine in serious condition were injured and cash and valuables were looted in a train dacoity near Jhabua-Gujarat border in the wee hours of Saturday.

Around two dozens of armed dacoits boarded ‘69187 Ujjain-Dahod passenger train’ at Anas station on Saturday night.

“The dacoits looted and thrashed passengers for around 30 minutes. The GRP team was present on the train at the time of incident but none of them came at our rescue,” said a passenger.

The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital in Dahod.

The train dacoity in passenger train in the presence of GRP police has raised serious questions on passengers' safety and security in moving trains.

Meanwhile, the GRP police is still investigating the incident.
