Farmers would be paid Rs 4,500 per every damaged acre as compensation by the Andhra government, he told reporters on the sidelines of his visit to a relief camp at Machilipatnam.
    
The Minister said that the government would also provide seeds for a second crop at subsidized prices.
    
The district administration set up 34 relief camps and shifted about 7,000 people from low lying and coastal villages as a precautionary measure anticipating Cyclone Lehar which crossed the land today noon without causing any major damage.
    
The minister lauded efforts of the administration for taking prompt action and providing amenities to relief camps.
