Sitamarhi: One hundred and eighty bags of urea being smuggled to Nepal were seized from near Runisaidpur police station in Bihar's Sitamarhi district on Tuesday, police said.

Acting on tip-off, police stopped a truck and seized the fertilizer being transported to Nepal illegally from Sitamarhi, the police said.

Two persons were detained in the connection, the police said. In another incident, 300 sacks of fertilizer meant for sale in black market was recovered from a godown of a dealer at Piro bazar in Bihar's Bhojpur district, the police said.

An FIR was lodged by the district agriculture officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandan Giri said.
