New Delhi: In a shocking incident, as many as 19 children fell ill after eating mid-day meal in a government school in the national capital. All victims were admitted to Batra Hospital and later discharged in the evening.

According to reports, children complained about vomiting and stomach pain after having mid-day meal in Rajkiya Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Sangam Vihar on Thursday.

Batra hospital authorities said, “Children began to come around quarter to 2. They were given medicines and saline, 12 were sent home immediately after the treatment and 7 were kept on observation and discharged later in the evening.”

Meanwhile, School authorities are not ready to comment anything on the issue.

Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said, “An inquiry has been ordered and an action will be taken against the agency which provided the meal.” Deputy Director of Education, South Delhi has been told to submit the report after proper investigation.

Earlier, 120 children had fallen sick after eating mid-day meal in Trilokpuri-based school.
