Lucknow: Two former ministers of previous Mayawati Government who were facing charges in Labour and Construction Co-operative Federation (LACCFED) scam on Thursday surrendered before a local court, which granted them interim bail.

Former Secondary Education Minister Rangnath Mishra and former Small-scale Industries Minister Chandradeo Ram Yadav surrendered in the court of district and sessions judge K K Sharma, who granted them an interim bail till January 19.
The court on Friday had given a week's time to Mishra and Yadav to surrender. The court had said that if the two did not surrender in next one week, investigating agency would be free to take coercive steps against them.

The scam involved multi-crore government fund meant for construction of buildings including ITI bhawans, polytechnic hostels, employment exchanges, homoeopathy hospitals, court rooms, veterinary hospitals, mortuaries and signboards in Navodaya schools in 2010-11 by LACCFED.
It has been alleged that former managing director of LACCFED B P Singh had given kickbacks in cash to several former ministers for getting construction projects for the agency.
