Produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel by the same name and features new actors Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh on Monday confirmed the news on Twitter about the film's box office collection and declared it as a super-hit.

"'2States' Overseas total [after 3 weeks]: $ 5.6 million [₹ 33.59 cr]. USA-Canada $ 2.08 mn, UAE $ 1.23 mn, UK $ 806k, Australia $ 379k," Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday.

Alia, who was riding high on the success of 'Highway', has managed to have two hits in the first half of 2014. Arjun's earlier release this year, 'Gunday' may have failed, but the success of this film will give the young actor's career a boost.

Alia is currently busy shooting with Varun Dhawan for Karan Johar’s ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ while Arjun Kapoor will be next seen in ‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’ opposite Deepika Padukone.
