Ghaziabad: In a drive carried out by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), 200 illegal flats owned by the builders have been sealed. It was found during the GDA drive that the builders had constructed the flats by violating the norms. Special officer D P Singh said that GDA will demolish these flats very soon.

According to Singh, it was found during the GDA drive that nearly 80 builders in the past five years kept the rules and regulations aside and constructed the flats against the prescribed maps. He further added that a well-known builder had constructed 200 additional flats in Indirapuram which were declared illegal by the GDA during the internal investigation.

He also said that the procedure of sealing flats has been started and in the next few days these flats will be demolished and some more builders will be brought under GDA scanner.
