New Delhi: As the stage is all set for the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress is leaving no stone unturned to maximise its chances of winning the 2012 polls. Engaged in minimising any uncertainties that could invite setbacks in the polls, the party has decided to replace over six nominees who figured in the candidate list for UP elections.

As per the sources, the party has identified the names of nominees that can prove to be disastrous for the fate of Congress in the crucial polls and is likely to replace them with other strong names soon.

Meanwhile, after locking horns with the RLD over the distribution of seats in the state, the Congress is yet to announce the party nominees for another seven seats.

Sources said, the names of the replaced nominees are likely to be announced along with the names of the nominees for the seven seats in UP.
