This is the first time that the company has opened its arms for the diesel version of the City variant.

“The company's all-new Honda City received an overwhelming response after its global preview in November. We are looking forward to the launch of the new City and expect to continue with the growth momentum in the New Year," Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) senior vice-president (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said earlier.

Honda City diesel as well as petrol variant will be available in five trims with exactly same equipment specifications. New Honda City diesel is expected to be the most efficient car in the country.

The diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine where as the petrol variant will retain 1.5-litre, four cylinder engine.

The new versions of the popular car are likely to be priced around Rs. 7.5 lakh to 13-lakh. Automobile enthusiasts are keeping an eye on the diesel variant of Honda City as the automobile market expects majority of the sales to come from it.
