The year 2015 started gloriously with US President Barack Obama gracing 66th Republic Day celebrations as a Chief Guest. Apart from the magnanimous celebrations, the country witnessed many other events in the same month like setting up of Niti Aayog and holding 35th edition of National Games.

The month of February witnessed many events, but the most highlighted one was Delhi Assembly polls where Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP  registered thumping victory by winning 67 seats in 70-member Assembly House. Other major events include Govind Pansare murder case and Union Budget 2015-16.

The third month of the year witnessed a big change in history of Andhra Pradesh with Amaravati being declared as the new capital of the state. Conferring Bharat Ratna on Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Madan Mohan Malviya, and evacuating the Indians from Yemen were among the few important events that occurred during the month of March.

The month was started on a bad note as earthquake jolted neighbouring Nepal. Over 9,000 people were killed in this natural devastation. Other major events occurred in this month include MUDRA Yojana launched by PM Modi and successful evacuation of Indian citizens from Yemen.

From technology to politics, the month of May experienced happenings in almost all the major fields. While on one hand, Tamil Nadu CM Jaylalithaa was acquitted in a disproportionate asset case, a case was registered against maggi in the local court. The Gurdaspur attacks in the month of July shook the entire nation as the assailants stormed Dinanagar Police Station of Gurdaspur district. Apart from the terror activity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Digital India Week' to empower the country digitally.

While on one hand, India joined the space observatory owners club with ASTROSAT in the month of September,  the Central government put a ban on National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) for five years. The month also witnessed a major cylinder explosion in Madhya Pradesh which took the lives of almost 90 people.

The month started on a great note as PM Modi launched the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October and 31st October marked as Rashtriya Ekta Divas. Another major event was the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati by PM Modi. The month witnessed many sports events.
