Moscow, Jan 29 (Agencies): A 20-year-old youth hailing from the North Caucasus region has been identified as the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the Domodedovo International Airport on Monday, said Russia's Investigation Committee (SK).

The committee, however, did not disclose his name as investigations proceed into the bombing that killed 35 people.

"The blast was carried out by a 20-year-old man, resident of one of the North Caucasus regions of the country. For the time being we will not disclose his name in the interests of operative work to catch all the organisers and perpetrators," SK spokesman Vladimir Markin said in a televised statement over state-run Rossiya 24 news channel.

In the suicide attack in the crowded international arrivals lounge 35 people, including 12 foreigners were killed and 125, including 8 foreigners are still in hospital.

"The terror attack was predominantly aimed at the foreigners," Markin added.

The bomber blew himself up at 16.32 hours local time on Monday when passengers from several international flights were disembarking.
