New Delhi: As many as 21 child labours being made work illegal in factories have been rescued in a raid on Monday, police said.

The children aged between 10 and 15 were recovered on information received by Saleem Balak Trust.

"The raid was conducted around 12 p.m. and around six factories near Jama Masjid in Daryaganj area searched. As many 21 children natives of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have been recovered," said a police officer.

"The children were produced before Child Welfare Committee and sent to a shelter home," the officer added.

"A case under various sections will be registered at Daryaganj police station after their statement will be recorded before the committee," said Additional Commissioner of Police Divesh Chandra Srivastava.
