The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals. Two people are said to be in serious condition.

The blast damaged a 30-feet portion of the track near Dillmurad railway station, leading to the suspension of railway traffic between Karachi and the rest of the country.

The track was immediately cordoned off by security forces and railway authorities.

Earlier, militants blew up a portion of a railway track in Balochistan province with an improvised explosive device (IED) on Saturday.

Seven people were killed and more than 30 others wounded near Unnar Wah railway station in Jacobabad district in a similar incident in February last year.
