Singh informed the Legislative Assembly that there is no proposal to lease out the 29 loss-making units of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC).

In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said the HPTDC units included 59 hotels and 10 restaurants.

Out of these, 21 hotels and seven restaurants are running in losses. But none of the loss-making units would be given on lease, he added.

Singh was replying to a question from Maheshwar Singh of Himachal Lokhit Party.

He said Shivalik cafe at Parwanoo and three units at Vashisth Bath in Manali, Tourist Inn at Tatta Pani and Hotel Parvati at Manikaran in Kullu had to be closed due to natural calamities.

He said 16 HPTDC units were in Kullu district, 12 in Shimla, 10 in Kangra, seven in Chamba, six in Solan, four each in Mandi and Sirmaur, three each in Kinnaur and Bilaspur, two in Lahaul and Spiti, and one each in Una and Hamirpur.
