New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation is mooting to give a clean chit to those banks which sanctioned loans to the telecom companies involved in the 2G spectrum case.

A senior official investigating the case said that no evidence of criminal conspiracy has been found against the banks which gave loans to the telecom companies for getting licences of the 2G spectrum.

“No irregularities were found in the documents of the banks, therefore no evidence of criminal conspiracy can be registered against them,” he added.

On being asked about the tripartite agreement between DoT, related companies and banks, he said this is not the first time that such deals have taken place. With the arrival of private companies in the telecom sector, banks involve the DoT in the loan procedures, he added.
