New Delhi (Agencies): Union Communications Minister A Raja was sent to judicial custody in the 2G spectrum allocation scandal by a Delhi court till March 3 on Thursday.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge OP Saini sent him to judicial custody for fourteen days, as the country’s premier investigation agency did not want any further remand for questioning him.

Raja's lawyer Ramesh Gupta also moved an application that his client should be permitted to keep his medicines and books with him in the jail. He also requested that Raja be allowed to get home-cooked food. The court allowed this plea.

Raja was detained on February 2 for his involvement in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, which caused huge losses to the national exchequer, and remanded in CBI custody previously for five days.
