Patna: The Bihar government on Thursday transferred 3054 policemen from the rank of inspector to the civil jamadar from one zone to another. All 3054 policemen in various ranks from inspector to the civil jamadars have been transferred to another zone after completing maximum of 10 years in service in a particular zone, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Headquarters, Ravindra Kumar said.

The break up of the transferred cops comprise of 68 inspectors, 586 SI, 1301 ASI, 1066 hawaldar, 6 subedar and 27 civil jamadars.

Besides, some policemen posted in the intelligence department, special department and economic offence wing have also been transferred.

Those policemen having less than two years in service have not been transferred as per the norm, the ADG said. All transferred cops have been directed to report for duty at their new posting on April 25 next, he said, adding that about 10,000 constables who have been completed service in a particular police zone will also be transferred in due course of time.
