New Delhi: In order to cater to the extra rush due to Holi, Railways will press services of about 360 special trains as part of elaborate arrangements during the period.
These special trains have been planned over approximately 17 different popular routes to clear extra rush of traffic, said a senior Railway Ministry official.

The Holi specials will connect important stations including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Pune, Gorakhpur, Patna, Dibrugarh, Banaras, Darbhanga, Barauni, Barelli and Secunderabad.
Extra coaches are also being attached to some regular trains to accommodate additional traffic, he said. The Zonal Railways and the Divisional Railways have made elaborate plans for the convenience of the passengers during this period.
Steps are being taken to prevent misuse of tickets by deploying checking squads at reservation offices. Special arrangements are also being made to make regular announcements about additional coaches and special trains at stations.
