Lucknow, Jan 08 (Agencies): Thirty-eight child labourers were rescued from various food joints during a drive launched by the Labour Department and Childline.

The department carried out a drive with an aim to rescue children working as labourers in restaurants and food joints in different parts of the city, including Vikas Nagar, Aliganj and Rajajipuram, officials said.

The raids were carried out in a phased manner from December 29,  2011 they said, adding that legal notices have been issued to the restaurants and food joint owners from where these children were rescued.
