Hyderabad: As many as 431 nominations were filed for June 12 bye-elections to one Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh as the nomination process ended on Friday.

For the 18 Assembly seats, 412 candidates filed their nominations while for the Nellore Lok Sabha seat 19 nominations were filed, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal said.

On Friday alone, 212 nominations were filed for all the seats. The highest number of 45 nominations were filed for the Tirupati seat and the lowest 10 for Narsannapeta seat.

Scrutiny of the nominations will take place on Saturday and the last date for withdrawal is May 28. The CEO said Rs 22 crore of unaccounted cash has been seized so far in the 12 districts where the bye-elections will be held.
