Bhopal:  At a time when states are opposing operationalisation of Nation  Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), the Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday revealed that as many as 66 terrorists have been arrested in last three years. Out of these 47 are associated with banned oraganisation-Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

In the question hour of the assembly session Home Minister Uma Shanker Gupta said from 2009 till present date, the Madhya Pradesh police along with Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) have arrested militants from Shahdol, Balaghat, Ratlam, Dewas, Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Mandsor and Khandwa. Out of 47 arrested SIMI members, seven have been linked with major terrorist attacks executed all across the country.

Meanwhile other issues related to the socio-economic development of the state were also discussed. Rural Minister Gopal Bhargava informed that under MNREGA nearly 2000 sub-engineers will be appointed on contract basis.
