Not many might know that the 'little master' of Indian cricket did cameos in Hindi film ‘Malamaal’ (1988) and Marathi movie ‘Savli Premachi’ (1980). In fact, Sunny can be seen in a song in Savli Premachi dancing and wooing his on-screen lady love.
Here's the video:
The poster boy of Indian cricket during the 90s, Jadeja's career was cut short after the swashbuckling all-rounder was embroiled in match-fixing controversy in the year 2000. Although he got a clearance from the Delhi High Court in 2003, he did not return to international cricket. Instead, he opted to give a new direction to his career by acting in movies. Jaddu acted in the 2003 movie ‘Khel’ starring big names like Sunny Deol and Suniel Shetty. He also acted in the 2009 movie, ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath’, directed by V Krishna Kumar.
Gavaskar's teammate and close friend Kapil Dev is no less when it comes to handling multiple professions at the same time. This World Cup winning skipper is not only a leading all-rounder but has also acted in blockbuster movies like 2004 release ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (Starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra) and ‘Iqbal’ (Starring Naseeruddin Shah and Shreyas Talpade) which released in the year 2005.
Interestingly, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ also had Irfan Pathan, Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, Mohammad Kaif and Navjot Singh Sidhu in cameo roles.
The second Indian batsman to hit six sixes in an over in first-class cricket, Yuvi was a star even before the sport made him world famous. He acted in several movies as a child actor but eventually found interest in cricket.
Salil made a dream Test debut along with the 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar. But it is not a hidden fact what became of his cricket career. He developed a tumour in his left shin bone (osteoid osteoma) because of which he could not run for two years. Later, Salil decided to make use of his conventionally good looks and jumped into the field of acting. He has acted in movies like Kurukshetra (2000), Pitaah (2002), Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (2003), Silence Please...The Dressing Room (2004), and Riwayat (2012). He has also acted in multiple television shows; some of them being C.I.D.: Special Bureau, Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Vikraal Aur Gabraal, and Zindagi Teri Meri Kahani.
