Chandigarh: Haryana Director General of Police S N Vashisht has promoted all the five members of a police team which eliminated a criminal who had killed one person in 2011.
Accused Vikas was involved in the murder of the owner of Fauji Dhaba at Karaur in district Rohtak on November 7, 2011. A spokesman of the Police Department said an encounter took place at village Ramala in Uttar Pradesh ten days back.
The accused, who had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, died in the encounter while two others Deepak and Paramjit alias Kala were nabbed by the police who also recovered a large quantity of weapons from them.
Superintendent of Police, Rohtak, had recommended promotion of all members of the team Sub-Inspector Narender Pal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Karambir, Rishipal and Dharambir and constable Sandeep.
