Mukesh Ambani said that all voice calls to any network across India on its Jio network will be free. He also announced a 'free welcome offer' for Jio customers from September 5 till December 31.

Reliance Jio will offer users data services free for four months, after which it will offer 10 tariff plans starting at Rs 19 a day for occasional users, Rs 149 a month for low data users and Rs 4,999 a month for heavy data users.

After the launch of Jio, now everybody is thinking that how Reliance is going to offer all these features for free.

Here are five such reasons which might explain the Reliance's strategy:

>> Reliance Jio has set a target to bring onboard 100 million customers in the "shortest possible time" as it rolls out its 4G network across the country, big customer base will help them in earning big revenue. Reliance Jio has already onboarded 1.5 million users on its 4G network, during the test phase.

>> Reliance Industries has invested as much as $20 billion on Jio -- its largest ever capital expenditure on a single project. Initially company will use this money to develop infrastructure and give offers to new users to expand its customer base.

>> The company has also announced "super-affordable" handsets under the LYF brand starting at mere Rs 2,999. Reliance Jio has been expanding its unlimited calls and high-speed mobile broadband trial offer to 4G smartphone users of brands such as HTC, Intex, Vivo, Gionee, Karbonn and Lava.

>> Company already has state of the art Infrastructure that will offer excellent performance for next five years and later they will expand and upgrade their network. The company has 850 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz spectrum, which Jio will use only for 4G services, while other telecom companies are using one spectrum for 2G, 3G and 4G services. This will help them in reducing infrastructure cost.

>> “Data is the new oil, and intelligent data is the new petrol,” Mukesh Ambani said. This statement of the RIL chairman states the future vision of Jio and that’s why they are concentration on Data more. Initially, company is offering free voice and SMS services to all its users. Jio users would not face any blackout days such as Diwali and New Year, when operators tend to charge double. Live TV, Movies, Video chats, games on high speed internet will be the main focus of the company as they will be earning money in future by selling data packs only.
