The 60 hours long gunbattle which is still continuing at Pathankot Air Force base has become the longest run anti-terror operations in the country.

The terrorist attack had started at 3.30 am on  Saturday. "Combings operation continued (on Sunday). This operation is at the completion stage. The operation will continue till the whole air base has been cleared of any intruders," Air Commodore JS Dhamoon, the Air Officer  Commanding (AOC) of the Pathankot Air Force Station told the media.

"These terrorists are holed up in a double storeyed building which is a living accommodation of the Air Force personnel and currently the operations are in progress to clear this building from the terrorists," Brigadier Singh cited.

Explosions and firing continued intermittently last night as security forces killed one of the at least two terrorists holed up at Pathankot air base on the second day of the attack in which military casualties including a Lieutenant Colonel of the NSG mounted to seven.
