New Delhi: In order to buck the possible anti-incumbency against his government, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to not field about 60 percent of sitting BJP MLAs in upcoming assembly polls.

Earlier too, Narendra Modi had not given tickets to the 40 percent sitting MLAs in 2007. The formula had clicked that time and BJP stormed to power with 117 MLAs. Similar experiment is also being done in the civic poll in 2012.

During a recently held party meeting at Koba, he gave indications to the party leaders about the resentment of fresh faces in the party and to axe down many of the sitting MLAs. He further relaxed by saying that ‘the faith on the party members will remain the same and will not shake ever’.

One of the senior BJP leaders present at the recently held party meeting at Shantiniketan in Ahmedabad stated that "The CM has told us to appease those who are left out and ensure that they do not create any trouble during elections”.
