Greater Noida: The ongoing land acquisition turmoil in Noida Extension is heading towards an amicable solution as about 600 farmers from Patwari village accepted the new compensation and signed the agreement papers at Office of the Additional District Magistrate (Land Acquisition). The process will continue on Thursday and Friday.

It is worth mentioning that the deal between the farmers and the Authority was struck on Saturday, in which it was decided that an additional compensation of Rs 550 per sq metre would be given to farmers who sign the agreement with GNIDA.

About 600 hundred farmers signed the agreement papers on Wednesday. After that cheques are being distributed to them at the ADM (LA) office at Sector Beta-I.

For taking compensation, the farmers have been gathering at the ADM (LA) office from Wednesday morning. The police personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward situation. Compensation worth Rs 150 crore was distributed on Wednesday.

Greater Noida Chief Executive Officer, Rama Raman said, “The farmers can take compensation on Thursday and Friday too. The court will hear the petition on August 17.”
