New Delhi: A student from IIT-Bombay picked up by Samsung Company for a fat salary of Rs 80 lakhs a year, has triggered a huge online debate.
As soon as the news of his selection spread, social networking sites like the Twitter and Facebook were flooded with comments.
IITians taking a dig on the salary package issue tweeted, “The reason why a country of 1.2 billion people wins only 6 medals at Olympics is because students start preparing for IIT from 6th grade!!.”
Another twitterati Archit said after seeing the salary package he will work hard to get through IIT.
On the other hand appreciating IIT on twitter Vivek posted that it is the best institute and his first choice, not only because it gives handsome salary offers but also because of its high quality education.
Also the top rated tweet quoted, “The reason why we won't have an Indian version of Junior Masterchef is because all kids have already been sent to IIT coaching.”
Over sixty companies including Samsung, Amazon, Oracle and Adobe had visited IIT Bombay’s Powai campus to hire students. And the whopping offer reflects not only the talent of students but also the dominance of Indian students in terms of drawing salary.
