New Delhi: Despite several reminders from the Union Home Ministry 864 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have not submitted details of their Immovable Property Return (IPR). Those who have done so include Director Generals of Police from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi including seven other states.

Cracking a whip on erring IPS officers, the ministry has cleared names of defaulters which will be made public soon. Such officials will be denied vigilance clearance if they fail to disclose their IPR for 2010 before October 10.

One of the senior officials of the ministry has informed that action will be taken against those who have not declared their assets so far.

Notably, the Personal Department of the ministry has made mandatory for the officials of Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Railway Services (IRS) to submit their property returns.

On September 21, the ministry set October 10 as the last date for the submission of IPR.
