Ranchi: In what could be seen as the poor scenario of education in the country, nearly 93 percent of the candidates who appeared for the post of teachers in Primary Schools of Jharkhand failed to clear the test.

In a test conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) for the appointment of 13,807 teachers for primary schools and 4401 Urdu teachers, only seven percent successfully cleared the examination.

Agitated over the poor results, the candidates burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister and Education Minister of the state and took out a procession from Central Library to Albert Chowk. They demanded to reduce the cut-off marks and conduct another examination.

According to the JAC president, answer sheets have been corrected through computer. Candidates have received marks as per their performance. Meanwhile, Minister of Human Resource, Baidnath Ram, has called it as an error by the JAC which needs an instant review.
