New Delhi: Competition watchdog CCI has formed an advisory group to give it broad inputs and advice on markets, competition and good global practices.
"CCI has constituted an Eminent Persons Advisory Group (EPAG). This will serve as a group of 'wise persons' to give broad inputs and advice on larger issues impacting markets and competition, good international practices, improved advocacy to the Commission," a government statement said.
It said the first meeting of the group is slated to take place in July.
The group will interact and hold meetings with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) two-three times in a year, it said, adding the competition watchdog will benefit from the advice of persons representing wide arena from corporate sector, academics, NGOs, regulatory authorities, Reserve Bank and CAG.
Chief Mentor and Former Chairman of Infosys Narayana Murthy, Former Comptroller and Auditor General of India V N Kaul, Former RBI Deputy Governor Rakesh Mohan, Biocon Chairman Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, IIM Ahmedabad Former Director Bakul Dholakia and NGO activist Rohini Nikelani are among the members of the group, the statement said.
