Muzaffarnagar: Calling appointment of Muslim receptionists in any office as anti-Islam, Darul Uloom Deoband, noted Islamic institution, has issued a diktat against it. The latest diktat is bound to threaten the livelihood of many Muslim women who are working as receptionist in different offices to run their families.

This diktat has been released in reply to a question by the executives of a Pakistani firm in which it was asked whether appointing a Muslim receptionist is in accordance to Shariyat or Islamic traditions or not. Darul Uloom Deoband, in its reply, said that a receptionist has to keep her face unveiled while executing her official duties which is against Islam.

Meanwhile, chairperson of UP Muslim Imam Organisation and Islamic cleric Mufti Zulfikar Ali endorsed this diktat of Darul Uloom Deoband adding that a woman can work in a office while keeping her face veiled but when comes to work as a receptionist, it becomes obligatory for her to keep her face unveiled while interacting with others.
