Ahmedabad: Amid speculations on Muslim votes polled in Gujarat Assembly polls in which Chief Minister Narendra Modi has registered a landslide victory for the third consecutive term, it has been found that even people of Muslim community have admitted that they have reaped the full dividends of development in Narendra Modi-led BJP government.
During distribution of party tickets, sections of media targeted the Chief Minister and his party for not allotting ticket to anybody from minority community. But on the contrary, Muslims of the state say that their rights guaranteed by the constitution and a due share in the development of the state are much more important than getting a party ticket in elections. They clearly say that parties like Congress should not believe that Muslims would continue to vote for them in the name of secularism as Congress’ record on this ground is not beyond doubts.
Zafar Sareshwala, Chariman of Parsoli Corporation, says that Congress even did not said anything about the interests of Muslims in the state whereas BJP ensured inclusive development of all sections of the society. Sareshwala adds that if Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister of India, nation will be benefitted.
When asked about the remarks of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that Muslims are unsafe in Gujarat, Sareshwala says that his statement is a big joke.
“Had the Prime Minister said this in 2002, he would have been right to some extent, but saying this in 2012 bears no significance,” added Sareshwala.
