Thiruvananthapuram:  Bindu Krishna, a woman Congress leader from Kerala, filed a complaint on Monday against defamatory remarks against her posts on the networking site facebook for backing senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien.

"As per the information available so far, the comments were posted from a fake ID and police were trying to trace their origin. Police are in contact with Facebook authorities," Krishna said.

The case has been filed under Section 66 A of the IT Act based on the complaint by Mahila Congress leader Bindu Krishna. A cyber cell official of the Kerala Police said that investigation was on in this case. The officer also added that no action so far had been taken against any individual.

The comments were noticed on February 4 and by then itself more 140 people were found to have shared them, she said.

Krishna also sought to arraign Dharmarajan as an accused in the case.

Dharmarajan, an accused in the infamous rape case who had been absconding after jumping bail in 2005, was nabbed from Karnataka on February 15. Before his arrest he appeared on a Malayalam TV channel corroborating the claims of the rape victim that Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien was involved in the assaulting her.
