Shimla: Shimla Deputy Commissioner Omkar Sharma has contributed a sum of Rs 2.21 lakhs to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Relief Fund. Sharma handed over a draft worth Rs 2.21 lakh to the state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Thursday. Appreciating the contribution of Sharma, Chief Minister Dhumal said, “The fund will be used for the welfare of the poor and needy people of the state. Many people are coming forward to contribut for the nobel cause.”

The chief minister further added, “More people should come up to contribute for the relief fund as it will be used for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society.”

He also reminded that there is a provision of tax exemption for those who make contributoins to the relief fund.
