Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday said after the recent arrest of two hardcore naxalites, no naxal gang is operating in the state now.
     
"After the arrest of Munna Vishwakarma and Lalvrat Kol in Sonbhadra in the past fortnight, no naxal gang is operating in the state now," DGP A C Sharma told reporters here.
      
He said besides the IB, the state intelligence and the police, investigating agencies of Jharkhand and Bihar had interrogated the two naxals.
      
Arms and ammunition were recovered at their instance, the DGP said.
     
"During their interrogation, the police have got to know about arms-suppliers and shelter-providers to these naxals," he said.
     
No naxal gang is operating in the state now, the DGP said.
