New York: In a bid to commemorate world’s most renowned Holocaust victim, Anne Franks, a museum is proposed to be near Ground Zero. The proposed museum will be build next to the Islamic Centre.

Anne Frank is known for the quality of her writing which later became basis for some movies and plays.

A post report says that the nonprofit AnneFrank Center USA, a partner of the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam, will be signing for a spot in a skyscraper just across the street.

The Post reported that the museum is shifting from its current place in New York in favour of a larger place to create the "secret annex" where Anne Frank wrote her diary while hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam between 1942 and 1944.

The plan to build an Islamic Centre and mosque near the site of the fallen twin towers was a source of heated debate in the US, last year, as the families of 9/11 victims were against it.

One of the Board members at the Anne Frank Center, Hyman Enzer said, “They had no concerns about the controversy surrounding the Islamic Centre. We've been working very hard to find a new location that will be more accessible to our exhibits."
