However, advent technology and adoption of modernity have been replacing ages old customs. Modern lifestyle engulfed the ancient ethnicity. Yet, some parts of country conserve century old rituals.

In some remote areas of the country such ancient customs are still followed. Some of these rituals are very mysterious. A village named Bandhua in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand is hogging the limelight for a custom which as was in practice till 2014. Residents of this village bury their kith and kin after death inside their houses or within the premise of home and worship the tomb as sacred sanctum.

It sounds weird but it was a stunning reality in Hazaribagh. This ritual was practiced by the Gosai caste. The ritual is somewhat similar to the Egyptian pyramids custom which was in practice during 2630 BC–2611 BC in Egypt. Pyramid was a monumental structure with a square or triangular base specially built for a royal tomb in ancient Egypt.
