"It (AAP) will be a factor but in how many places and to what effect, I can't say because I think the AAP mystique is to some extent unravelling or perhaps already unraveled," he said.

AAP to field Medha Patkar, Anjali Damania in LS polls

Asked about his own assessment of the fledgling party, he said, "Well I think a combination of circumstances in Delhi gave rise to a party like AAP. But I don't think those circumstances prevail all over the country."

The Aam Aadmi Party announced the first list of 20 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls on Sunday. Prominent among them are social activist Medha Patkar, Anjali Damania, Yogendra Yadav and Kumar Vishwas. Party spokesperson Ashutosh will contest from Chandni Chowk, the constituency of Law Minister Kapil Sibal, Mukul Tripathi will be contesting against External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid from Farukkhabad in Uttar Pradesh, and Kumar Vishwas will be pitted against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi constituency.
