The activists, who alleged that AAP has forgotten its traditional way of selecting candidates, are now demanding a meeting with party leader Yogendra Yadav to discuss the matter.

APP activists are upset over the party giving ticket to an ‘outsider’ and someone who recently joined the party rather than giving it to an AAP volunteer.

They alleged that the party, which had promised to elect candidates for the upcoming general elections after taking the views of people, is not fulfilling its promise.

70 people had applied for their candidature from Chandni Chowk constituency and the name of Mohammad Mursleen was proposed. But AAP sidelined all of them and fielded Ashutosh.

The party workers are now accusing the one-year old party of misleading people like Congress and BJP. AAP, however, claimed that the protestors were not its volunteers.
"Our volunteers wanted a strong candidate to be fielded against Kapil Sibal, which is why we decided on Ashutosh. Those who were protesting are not our volunteers," said party's media coordinator Dilip Pandey.
