Faridabad: Diamond merchant Krishna Arya kidnapped from Faridabad on Thursday has been killed by the kidnapper. Investigating the high profile kidnapping case, the police on Monday claimed that Arya was killed on the day he was kidnapped.

The police also recovered his half-burnt body from Mathura and four persons, including one of his servants have been arrested.

According to police, the family had not received any phone call or demand for ransom from the abductors merely because he died accidently immediately after he was kidnapped.

Earlier on Wednesday, Arya along with his wife had left his Sector 15 residence for some work. They were heading towards Sector 16 market, between that Arya dropped his wife at Sector 16 market and proceeded for some urgent work intimated to him over the phone. When Arya did not return home till late night, his son lodged a complaint with the Haryana police and a case of kidnapping was registered.

Police Commissioner, Faridabad, Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor had constituted four Special Investigation Teams to trace the missing trader. According to Kapoor, the kidnappers had allegedly given some drink to Arya mixed with sedatives to make him unconscious; however, he died due to overdose. Later, abductors took the body to Raya village near Mathura and burnt it to hide the identity.

The police found a clue through the mobile phone record of the deceased and interrogated a suspect who disclosed the names of other three criminals involved in the crime. All accused are identified as - Sanjeev Sharma, Ravi, Avdesh and Pushpendra Singh.

Police also claimed that Sanjeev Sharma was known to Arya and he masterminded the abduction for ransom, police said.
