The film will release worldwide on February 6, 2015. Shamitabh also marks R Balki's third directorial venture with Amitabh Bachchan. Cheeni Kum and Paa are the earlier collaborations of Amitabh Bachchan and R Balki. Shamitabh will be Dhanush's second Hindi film after Raanjhanaa.
